STATEMENT
My work is fundamentally dedicated to the condition of the human being. I am interested in the psychological character that I observe in its plurality with the grotesque prism. This perspective is inseparable from my Cuban origin in which I utilize “mockery” through the fight against oppression and the search for identity.
In my paintings I tend to elaborate more on the faces and hands of the figures as forms of individual expression, but without contextualizing them in any specific landscape. I prefer to emphasize the two dimensions of the plane, as for me it is important that those who encounter my works become aware that they are looking at paintings and not an illusionist mirror of reality.
