Willy Perez

STATEMENT

One of the themes which Willy Perez has explored with singular assurance is the universe of water. He has deciphered the enigma of the sea, enclosing in his works the treasures of its flora and fauna, its silent beings, its vessels run aground or sailing aloft in the wind, as well as longings for high-tide… All the poetic geometry of the Dominican landscape appears in his paintings, with special emphasis on the diversity of color to the Antilles, whose details suggest an instinct for ecological preservation without in that sense limiting themselves to local color
