Ella Chabot

STATEMENT

Researching the history of symbols portrayed in some of my paintings, I find they are shared by diverse groups, encompassing far flung eras in time. Regardless of our ethnicity or religion or country, we all share common roots as the human race and co-exist on the earth. I strive to illustrate that unity in my art themes. I use recycled materials in some works because it is one small way to encourage less trash cluttering earth. My figurative art is predominately feminine because, like the earth, women generate renewal of life. The world is vast and its issues overwhelming. My artistic focus is to create works that inspire and encourage a spirit of positive and authentic action.

CURRICULUM VITAE

Ella Chabothales originally fromWashington, D.C. She is a multiple media fine artist and versatile writer. Her creative quest began as an adolescent, composing poems in her head, walking her dog, shuffling through fallen leaves, in an old cow pasture. Nature continues to be one of her most compelling sources of inspiration. Acrylic and oil painting, photography, mixed media, and digital painting are all in her creative repertoire. Unfettered by photography or painting distinctions, some paintings are mixed media, combining paint and photographs; while some photo prints also morph into digital paintings that combine her paintings with her photographs. Chabot is also adept at creating with found and recycled materials.  Discarded objects such as old newspapers easily creep into her art and get drenched in paint. Chabot's art is typically vibrant and frequently incorporates archetypal imagery. She strives to manifest art that uplifts. In even her most grave works, there are elements of renewal and rejuvenation. She seeks to infuse a positive and authentic spirit of action moving within her creations. A former non-profit children's art director, Chabot has a master's degree in communications and a bachelor's degree in journalism, with a specialty in photography.
