Spanish-Miami based artist creates robotic installations with waste and garbage.
My work of art is driven by the need to make sense of the world around me that I see as unconscious, fragmented and dominated. I try to show through the artistic composition and the natural beauty of the objects that I collect from the trash, a social culture where the individual is indoctrinated in the unbridled consumption, and the people converted into usable and disposable objects.
The compositions I create interweave this popular culture, integrating the objects that make up the work, into an intricate network that suggests a continuous interaction with the mind, as well as the complexity and interconnectedness of life. Love, music, art and dreams are a great influence in my artistic work.
I am fascinated by the spatial, dimensional, structural and temporal composition that I see as an analogy of contemporary consciousness.
I work with different objects and materials that combine to create an artistic composition of mature relationships with interactive possibilities. By using often ambiguous geometries and disparate forms, the flow of ideas is interrupted, meaning is subverted, and logic is obfuscated. My work is infused with a visual dialogue that seeks to inspire viewers to make their own connections based on personal associations.
