 Aric Attas

STATEMENT

My current work is a photographic reflection of my meditation practice, study of the ancient Jewish mystical tradition of Kabbalah and exploration of modern scientific cosmology. Through my art making I seek to understand the origin of the cosmos, the nature of the universe(s) and our relationship with the Divine.

CURRICULUM

Attas received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology with high honors from Hobart College in 1988 and his Masters of Fine Art (MFA) in Photography from the Hartford Art School in 1996. He has worked extensively with representational and abstract photography, as well as unique experimental photograms and metal photogram sculptures. His work within the medium of the photogram has been recognized as highly original challenging our existing notions of the photograph. Currently Attas lives in Vero Beach, Florida.
