With the decline of art education around the world, Silvia Medina's vision is to bring art to the community. Medina believes in the power of art to inspire. Her ambitious, ground-breaking programs include hosting artists in residence, and taking emerging artists to international art fairs and biennials.
Medina has more than 30 years of art world experience. She is a founding member of the Havana Biennial and the Wilfredo Lam Center. She has curated many national and international art fairs, and collaborated with major art publications such as Art Nexus and Art Districts. Medina also served as executive director of Sala Mendoza in Caracas, Artistic Director at PagesEspaid'Art Gallery in Barcelona, and Intrepid Art Gallery in Vero Beach, Florida.
Whitney Martinez is communications liaison and assistant to curator Silvia Medina of Art Concept Alternative at Raw Space, Vero Beach, FL. She has assisted the curator with several exhibitions
In addition, Martinez is an activist for environmental change and the founder of the Non Free Fashion project, supporting ethical and sustainable fashion via educational outreach through fashion shows, events, & speaking engagements in the community. She attended Indian River State College in Florida for 4 years, specializing in business administration. Additionally, she routinely attends world class business seminars to enhance her craft.
